CONVENTION COMPETITION

Design a Scooter using Autodesk Fusion 360

Deadline: December 31, 2015

 

Pi Tau Sigma and Autodesk Inc. have partnered to offer Pi Tau Sigma students a design competition. Any Pi Tau Sigma student member can submit an individual entry for the competition. Submission deadline is December 31, 2015.

 

Design Challenge

1.        Design a non-motorized scooter that will appeal to college students.

 

2.        Download Autodesk Fusion 360 for free by clicking here. It is recommended to use Fusion 360 but other Autodesk products can be used by downloading them from Autodesk’s Education Community

a.       Any students that uses Fusion 360 can also submit her/his design as part of the Design For Autodesk project and earn a $250 Visa gift card

b.      Assembly must consist of 15 or more unique components that have a level of complexity beyond basic extrudes and revolves.

Note: A student can submit up to two entries, each consisting of a minimum of 15 unique components, to earn $500 in Visa gift cards.  For details see here. However, in judging, only one can place for prize money.

 

3.        Submissions are due by December 31, 2015

a.       To submit your design for the competition, please send via email your design files to dan.banach@autodesk.com and use the Subject line: Pi Tau Sigma Student Design Competition – “Your Name and School”

4.        The winning designs will be announced at Pi Tau Sigma’s February conference at the University of Southern California.

                                                 i.      Innovation Factor- Wow Factor

                                                 ii.      Overall technical design

                                                 iii.      Does it solve the problem?

                                                 iv.      Is the design user friendly?

                                                 v.      Model-Quality

b.      Pi Tau Sigma will provide $1,500 in prize money to be shared by winners.
